“Maybe the reason God wasn’t giving me a dream was because I didn’t need one. God was calling me through his church.”
“As heart-stoppingly amazing as it was to first dwell on the fact that Jesus would forgive someone like me, recently I have been even more amazed that he would not only rescue me from my rebellion but that he would use me (and keep using me!) to demonstrate grace to others…”
This book is a short reflection on the missionary life of Levi Booth. It is a refreshing and an easy read, full of wonderful glimpses into an imperfect life.
Levi never claims to have the right answers to all the problems he faces, or to be any more noble for becoming a missionary. On the contrary, Levi talks about his journey to missionary work in Japan with a great amount of humility.
Most of this book is about the build up to becoming a missionary and the decisions and challenges he faced, but also contains some reflection on his ministry once in Japan.
Anyone who has considered that God is calling them out into the missionary field. Anyone who has an interest in Japan. Anyone who wants to hear a refreshing tale of one man following Christ as best he can, and looking to be encouraged that they too can do God’s work with whatever they have been given in life.
